STEPPING ON THE BREAKS

Dear friends!
It is with sadness in our hearts that we have decided to take a break from Silence of September.
We have for the last 2½ years shed everything we had for this band and we have now reached a point where our work with our second album has resulted in a mutual feeling for a break. We love everything about this band, but this album has taken a lot of energy for many of us. BUT we have no intentions of closing any doors. With that said we will NOT exclude any chance of finishing the album at another point. But we will not promise anything at this point.
For now Silence of September is on a break for an indeterminate amount of time with no plans for the future what so ever. We would love to thank everybody who came to our shows, shared stage with us and bought our music. We love you all, and we would also like to give a very special thank you to our friends in A Road To Damascus for putting up with us for to two tours, a lot of meetings but also for some good times that we will never forget. We would also like to give a special thanks to our families for supporting us along with our good friends at Warner Music Denmark.
We cant thank any of you enough and we truly appreciate everything all of you have done for us.

SLEEP OF REASON OFFICIAL VIDEO - March 12th, 2011

Directed and produced by Nikola Majkic. A huge thank you to Anders Veikko Madsen and Dorthe Hansen.
The video was recorded and edited over a single weekend. We tried to capture the feeling of the song, using a little distorted images mixed with something very pure.
The song "Sleep of Reason" can of course be found on our debutalbum. Although the version for the video is the single-edit of the song.

BIOGRAPHY
Silence of September is a new face on the great international rock-scene. With their massive sonic landscapes and energy bursts, one cannot help, but being sucked in. The debut-album, "Sleep of Reason", was released February 4th 2010, with the gigantic Warner Music as distributor. And this was only after a handful of concerts.
After several replacements, founders Niko (lead vocals/guitars/keys) and Mirza (guitars/backing vocals) finally managed to ensemble the strong line up that is to be found today. Niko, Mirza, Kim, Christian and Frederik together give life to a sound that is addictive, powerful and undeniably gripping. Silence of September are being compared to acts like Linkin Park, Deftones and 30 Seconds to Mars and the album has also been appointed to one of the best albums to come out of Denmark in several years.

Early September 2011, after two national tours (donating all the profits to charity), radio airplay, two self-made music-videos and many gigs later, Sleep of Reason was released worldwide (instead of Scandinavia) through Warner Music, once again proving Silence of September to be one of the hardest working bands on the up and coming scene. In the true spirit of DIY, this band has done everything from press-photos to homepages themselves.
And if that wasnt enough, the band has meanwhile worked on a follow up to their debut. Still untitled, the follow up is set to be released sometime in the first half of 2012. The musical goals have always been big and ambitious, and the single song itself has constantly been a point of focus, that has driven this extremely hardworking band forward. The motto "...there is no such thing as luck, only hard work...", has been the bands "mantra" since the very beginning.
The mix of the American sounding hard rock and modern "electro-sound" defines the strong and well composed rock hymns of this band.
If you havent already; put on Sleep of Reason, crank up the volume, close your eyes and let yourself fall back into the world of Silence of September...

we found our past in a shoebox of photographs
we realized that the answers have changed

did you lose yourself? or did you lose it all? (one hour left i have no regrets)
coz when the darkness hits, we all feel so small (one minute left, how could i forget?)
and i can see it now and i remember (one second left, im about to fail)
that the pieces didnt fit, with the silence of september
(just close the door when you leave)
i dont want to be shelter for your sins
where did we end, im sinking in
into the softness of your skin im closing myself down, piece by piece
and i, count the seconds, of the minutes, of the hours, that i fear
coz i feel theres nothing left to do
why are we here?

MOVEMENT
As you probably know, the world around you and me is falling apart. People everywhere suffer every day. War, hunger and diseases are turning more and more into something, that defines our very existence.
But we can still turn it around. It is important to remember that we are the masters of our own fate. It is our responsibility to make sure that there is something left for our children, and our childrens children. The first place to start, is in front of the mirror.
You are better, than you think you are. And everything you do affects someone, somewhere. We all know the difference between right and wrong. I cant explain why we sometimes do horrible things. But I cant say enough how important it is to do our best, to change our wrongs into rights. Remember that we are all the same, regardless of color, sex and belief.
The world can be a much better place. And we can change it with tolerance, respect and belief. So please take some of your time and visit some of these sites. They are a few out of thousands organizations that make a difference, every day.
See where you can begin to make your effort to change the only chance we have got.
